my 10 gallon planted tank is finished :) painted it black on the back added black gravel lots of plants some floating plants and just added 4 guppies 1 male 3 females. do you think they can last throughout the cycle?

Also do guppies lay eggs or do they have live young? cuz i kinda wana add something to my tank that wont eat my plants but will clean the algee i was thinking snails?

I hope you are using eco complete for substrate. Normal gravel doesn't help much. guppies are livebearers. Snails would be a bad idea for plants. Go for a chinese algae eater, or otos.

no its normal gravel.. wish i woulda knew this earlier. i've ben adding Some plant grow and ferts for the plants so i hope they will be ok... and would golden algee eaters work? also have a c02 system in there to

my gf has my camera and i stayed home sick today ill post pics hopefully tomorrow

The guppiees probably will las the cycle
BUT
They may not be too healthy. It is really important not to overfeed.

When females are 'pregnant' they become larde abdominally and should have a black spot internall ant the abdomen rear. When the girls start seeming restless they are about to give birth.

If you cycle with just those few small fish, the filter will not be very high capacity so its almost like you will have to mature it further if you plan to stock the tank any more. May only thake 10 days with good water changes.

Really, dont overfeed.

your supose to do water changes on a tank thats cycling? i've always ben told not to. o well.. i guess i can get more guppies than? i never really wanted them to have babies just wanted them to look nice in my 10 gallon. Ill actully pass on more guppies and get some golden algee eaters maybe like 4-5 of them.

and how many goldfish should i put in my tanks to cycle them from now on?

Water changes if you are increasing capacity.
Not while it's cycling the first time.

Goldfish for cycling in a 10gal....
2 and 1.5-2 inches maybe
