WELL... i put this little game off too long, its been one of my original dreams to own a studio, and I originally went to college to get a degree in Sound Engineering, focusing on Live sound, Dolby 5.1 (Movie mixing) and Modular Digital multi-track/signal processing.

Well, i had to drop out for surgery several times... I have been attempting to go to college since 2003... then after this surgical problem, it getting two relapses... well, dropping the same things three times in a row really made me not wish to go back for awhile...

I think now its finally time, I can't wait to get back. January is a bit away but this is all I can think about :D

Oh, and the sweet 43 mile drive (one way) into Hollywood.

Anyways... finally i'll be doing something with my life, and it'll be what i've always wanted to do.

Cool, I'm a recording engineer too. Went to Berklee college of music for 4 years to get a degree in production and engineering. Now I work at a studio in manhattan. The music business is tough man. Good luck to you:)

Awesome, Barklee is a bit expensive for me *Cries*

im going to go to MI in Hollywood. Musicians Institute puts out some good musicians and engineers, top quality teachers for the price.

Although they will let me Intern at a studio for the entirety of my schooling, so that will be really fun :D

Ya it seems like alot of the good engineers are becoming teachers. It's steady work and good benifits. Both of these are rare in the recording industry.

Do you know where you will be interning. I have some buddies working in studios out in that area.

No idea, all I konw is its going to be with one of a few studio's that they have the program with. I think they will try and put you with somebody that shares your taste or works with certain types of music in said studio.

They ask what type of music we would be most interested in, I choose metal myself, there was a large amount of options, so id assume they wanna stick us with somebody that has that type of experience. Pretty much id be an Engineer's assistant and get first hand experience.
