Fire Belly Newts!!!!

I just recently got a couple fire belly newts and intrested getting more. But unfortunately now you can buy them anywhere beside breeds. Does anyone around Michigan know someone who deals with fire belly newts?

I'd say to go online at aquascape to get some more, also look into getting a couple marbled and albino rough skin newts as they all like the same conditions.

Thanks aquascape was sold out and yea I'm gonna look to see what I can stick in the tank that won't kill my newts.

Right now I got myself a 20 gallon but gonna upgrade to a 55 gallon soon. Yea it's big for newts buts I'd love to get my live plants make it look more natural

As far as tankmates go u could set them up with some native darters, bamboo shrimp, longfin white clouds, and maybe some cricket and chorus frogs, assuming u have good water conditions.

You can't get them anymore since they've been added to the lacey act earlier this year. Most of the ones you could get came from asia and they have some sort of fungas that is affecting newts over there.

Right but I'm hoping to possible find breeders, do you ever think the fungas with be taken care of that they would be allowed to be sold in pet stores again?
