i really like them and and was wondering how many i could put in a 55 gallon aquarium and what would be a good ratio for land and water for this size tank if they could be housed in one that is

fire bellies like water. i would do 65% water and 35% land. you could put up to 7-8. you could also through some fb newts in there with them;)

and a salamander if you want funny my fire belly toad never went into the water? my newt was always in the water eatting guppy's that i had breeding in there

what kind of levels could i put you know how deep could i make the substrate and water i really would like to add some fish would there be any problem there i know allot of people have guppys and things but i was thinking maybe some pictus catfish or something like that

i would make the water and land about 1' deep. then dut some live plants in the soil to help prosess the waste. i dont know if the pitcus would eat the fbt. try some corydora catfish if you like them.

yeah i thought about the possibility of the pictus eating the fbt after i posted i would really like to have some nice sized fish in there as well corydoras are a good possibility any other fish suggestions my freind jsut said i could have a old tank he has but it has wierd dimensions its like 38"x11" and kind of tall like 20" or so smaller than a 55 but its free maybe 2 or 3 toads with similar ratio on land and water should i include driftwood that is sticking out of the water into that ratio as well

guys. plain and simple, fire belly toads and fire belly newts don't mix. the toads (actually frogs) will eat the legs and tails off of the newts.

as far as how many. you can keep like 3 in a ten gallon. a 55 is a ton of room for an inch long frog. you could probably pull off keeping 12-14 of them in there, if not more.

good luck with the tank:D

i would do 5-6. the driftwood will look nice in the tank. how big do you want to go fish wise? emerald green corys get like 3-4''. you could also try a bumble bee cat or a yoyo laoch. they get 5''. the small kind that max out at 3''. i would also do some mystery or apple snails to.

yeah an apple snail would be awesome and i have so grass cats thats what they are labeled as and there only like 4"s i think there going in there and the dimensions on the tank are 38"x11"x18" weird i know but not a 55 which i really want but im gonna get 2 peaces of 6" pipe that will be protruding out of the water for the land side of things probably make a little bridge to join them should be cool im gonna start getting the stuff ready today so maybe in a few days ill actually have it started
