Fire Eel and Malawis

Has anyone here had any experience with mixing malawis and a fire eel.

I saw a fire eel at me LFS over the weekend and it is the most amazing looking creature. I have got my heart set on malawis though so if its not going to work out ill rather pass on the eel.

My tank will be 120 gal when finished.

Although i've had a fire eel in my 200G before, i'm not sure if they will work in a 120G? although i could be totally wrong...
