Fire eel aquascape

Any suggestions/ pictures would be much appreciated, i am currently stocking my tank with real driftwood with hollow cores and many plants, mostly plastic

Sounds good. You could also include clay pots and/or PVC pipes if you want.

i was considering to add a bendable duct hose instead of pvc pipes since they are more flexible and can weave their way around the tank

A pvc tube works, especially if he is the only that can fit in it. They like to hide. You can upgrade the size as it grows.

Is your substrate sand (hopefully)?

no it is gravel but it isnt very large, im sure the delicate skin of the eel will be able to handle it, if you want to see it it is in another thread i created
