Gotta love getting a phone call from a buddy saying he went to feed the fish and found your two fire eels floating dead. Frustrating to be across the country ughhhhhh

Sorry for the loss.

I've had multiple eels (eel like fish) in the past. All ended up jumping out of the tank for some reason. The first was a half banded spiny eel. He jumped out after an ich outbreak. The next was a peacock eel, which jumped out after starving itself (wouldn't eat the damn blood worms). The last was a rope decided to jump for no apparent reason. The best part is having to search for them behind the aquarium or under the stand.

Luckily I haven't had any issues these bad boys had reached around 16 to 18in a piece. Jumping would at least how they died, both dying in the same day makes me question what's up except all the other fish are fine.

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that. It is extremely weird that they both died and all other fish are fine. What size tank was it and what other tankmates were in the tank?

125 gallon as we speak I'm cycling a 275 so that kind of is a nut punch. Stock is couple bichirs a datnoid, sleeper goby, clown knife and a severum. No fighting that I ever saw or injuries and running an fx6 fluval 406 and a hang on the back with some media. Plus an airstone so idk
