Fire eel died

Hi had my fire eel for about 8 months with good growth no problems and hand feeding come home Sunday and looked liked fitting in tank and then died, all other fish and water is fine so really not sure what caused it
Any advice or previous experience would be great

1. What size tank was your eel in

2. What tank mates were in the tank with your eel

3. What were the actual readings of water parameters, Ammonia / Nitrite / Nitrate

4. What decor if any is in the tank

5. What were you feeding your eel, and how often / how much were you feeding him

6. what size is the eel when you bought it, and how big was it when it died

3. What were the actual readings of water parameters, Ammonia / Nitrite / Nitrate 0/0.5/20-40

4. What decor if any is in the tank bog wood and sand

5. What were you feeding your eel, and how often / how much were you feeding him prawn whiting food put in every day but he would hand feed prawn every other day

6. what size is the eel when you bought it, and how big was it when it died

4inch to 8inch about 6 months

That seems like a fair growth rate but it's hard to narrow it down without some more info like he said. Tank size and tankmates would be a good start.

Info is lost in the quote. Think they said the tank size was 6x2.5x2.5 and tank mates were wide bars tin foil geos.

Looks like you had a nitrite reading in the tank?
