fire eel diet?

I just got a fire eel last sunday and it has eaten 8 earthwoms since that time. I tried to feed him freeze dried brine shrimp, freeze dried krill, and frozen bloodworms. He will not eat any of them. he just goes up to my hand smells the food then goes back to his cave. any suggestions. live worms are expensive! especially considering my oscar eats every other worm and so does my aro:(
 
Try krill. mine eat like 7 piece every other day.
 
Try frozen krill.. these guys are notorious for being finicky eaters takeing live foods almost exclusively. but they can be weaned ontot frozen foods given patience and time. Just keep trying.
 
it took a couple of month to get mine to eat anything but bloodworms. finally it took to cut up prawns. they liked earthworms also.
 
mine only eats worms. Have two fish like that. Fun fun fun. expensive expensive expensive because my other fish love worms too.

Tried starving mine twice for 2-3 months and nothing. Only thing I am doing is stunting its growth :-/

Hell it took me a while just to get it to eat earthworms instead of live ghost shrimp (what is was eating) so i guess it could be worse
