what should i do? it's almost 3 weeks since i bought it, lfs guy says they feed them sinking pellets, didn't work for me. fed cut squid, didn't show interest at all. dropped cut prawns in front of him, he ran away.

did u try earthworms or blood worms? mine the same he has eating for some time but the guy i got him from say to give him some time...

those are unfortunately not available in my area. u mean wild earthworms?

Ghost shrimp may also work, but I agree Worms. Just about any type should be readily taken.

Read some of the posts on this page and other pages as this comes up weekly.

Ask the seller what the fed it on.

Many eels take a few weeks to settle in, get them eating something that wriggles first and then mix that with similar looking food that doesn't wriggle, then mix in other foods...if not they will fixate on one particular food.

Many retailers sell these in volume that are wild caught or wild farmed, they rarely eat at the retailer as not there long enough and then down to us to train them to eat in the aquarium.

Mine was the same and now he is very thick and over 12 inches..I expect he will get over 24inches and more.

Frozen bloodworms always seem to do the trick for just about every spiny eel regardless of size.
