About 1 day ago I bought an 8 inch fire eel and a little cave for him to hide in, the next morning I turned on the lights and I saw him floating before he swam back down to his cave. A few hours later I tried feeding him some sinking pellets and he wouldn't eat (I'm not to worried about that right now since I've only had him for a day) when he would come out of his cave it looks like he has trouble swimming it looks like he trying not to float to the top, And I also noticed his tail was a little beat up but I'm guessing that is from either his cave or gravel (Which isn't permanent soon it will be sand but my LFS didn't have enough sand for the tank but I had some extra gravel so its gravel for now) or its from my convicts during the night he must have gone into their cave which at the moment they have eggs. I read on multiple sites that fire eels are really susceptible to disease and fungus could that be the cause of the floating?.
