Hello, last week I got a 2''fire eel. He has been eating anything yet. I have thrown in there pellets, shrimp, and krill. He has shown any interest. So what should I try to fed him? Also he is living with 1 2'' albino oscar, 2 2'' sydontis eurptis, 1 4'' silverdollar, 2 3'' angelfish, and 1 fourlined pim and tinfoil barb. Do you think these are good tankmates for him?
BAF

Those tankmates are fine assuming you have a decent sized tank.
You could try feeding the eel bloodworms or earthworms. Just be patient - he'll eat eventually.
Most spiny eels can be hand-fed also.

Ok cool. Do you think he'll eat pellets or shrimp?

I also got a small fire eel about 8 inches and mine was feeding in a matter of minutes ( out of my hand) on frozen bloodworm try this and if you still have no joy contact the store you bought it from and ask them what they were feeding it.

Wouldn't count on pellets but its good to try when its young i would DEF try bloodworms, brineshrimp, mysisshrimp and glass worms for one that size and as it gets older try larger worms like red wigglers and nightcrawlers its good to try fish fillets and shrimp though

Ok Tommrow I'm going to go get frozen bloodworms and guppies.
