i no many people ike my self have found there eel inside there HOB.
well latly my fire eel has found a liking to crawling into the AC110
this worries me because when he comes out the hob he can in a sence escape by not droping back in the water and instead flopping on to the top of the glass. i no its just a matter of time before he does this. any ideas on how to stop him from going into HOB?

Put a grate type thing over the intake so he can't fit up there? That's the only thing I can think of. Im sure you can also go buy attachments that fit over the intake. I thought they all came with it?

lol i think you miss understood what the question was. the ee is wat to fat to fit into the intake he goes literally into the HOB threw were the ac110 spits out water not threw intake

Wow. I see that sealing that bugger up tight is totally needed! What I've done in the past is to cut the plastic trim so that is practically touches the waterfall. But for your eel, you'll need better reinforcement. I suggest siliconing some sort of plastic screen onto the lid so that the water has to pour through it. Or, as suggested, ditch the HOB and go canister. But I've lately been noticing a trend where canister-filtered and UGF tanks get cloudy but HOB tanks don't. I could be wrong on that, but at my LFS it sure looks that way. GL!
