so i own a fire eel 22inchs or so and a oscar 9 maybe 10inchs on a good day lol and a comman pleco 7-8inchs
ive been looking for a new fish but cant seem to find a fish that catches my eyes
ive had another oscar but re homed it cause the oscar i have now beat the crap out of it
i had a GReen terror and that didnt work cause it beat up the oscar
ive had sevrums didnt work cause they got beat up by oscar
my tank looks epty with just the oscar and fire eel and pleco
any thoughts on what might work?
i was thinking maybe a jack dempsy cause there mean but not to mean
oh the tanks a 135 gallons 6ft
filtered by a fx5 and couple ac110's

Oscar might terrorize a geo.
Dempsey is a good idea. Mine isnt aggressive at all, but he can protect himself if need be. The thing is if you put an adult JD in there, there is no telling whats going to happen. And a younger dempsey may get killed or eaten. There are alooooot of south/ central american species that would go well with your fish. Do your research and get something only semi aggressive.
Id suggest a Vieja.

how bout some convicts :naughty: they can defend themselves and wont bug the oscar either and will give u free live fish by breeding like rabbits ( i never feed mine tho they r too cute to give as feeders )

vieja ive herd bad stories of them beatin the crap out of oscar
and convicts if a maiting pair with oscar thats a bad combo cause convicts will destroy oscar even though small they pack a punch haha
but thank you guys im going to another place today see if i come back with a fish ill keep you guys updated
i might just by another fx5:headbang2
well see

i have a breeding pair of both convicts and vieja mate and they all get on fine with my oscar but then again i could just be lucky

Get yourself either a pair of Electric Blue Jack Dempseys or some Red Severums. I love these guys and they stand up for eachother againsnt any fish of comprable size

Either you are lucky or I am extremely unlucky. My female barely gets along with her mate, and beats the tar out of anything that is not one of her fry.

peacock bass would get too big for a 135 with tankmates IMO, i suggest trying another GT or severums. get them all as close to the same size as possible and start them out divided so they can get used to each other first, with adding large fish together its really just a game of trying different fish and hoping you get the right combination that tolerate each other, one GT or dempsey might be a terror on your oscar while another may get along with it perfectly GOOD LUCK
