fire eel question

i have a fire eel. VULCAN after the roman god of fire. ive seen pictures of them huge about 3 foot and really wide. my worry is th at he doesnt seem to be growing. he's only about 7 inch long and has kinda been the same size since i bought him. he only eats prawn and muscles and he pretty much hand fed. what can i do to accelerate his growth

clean water , low nitrates and the occasional live food..

Live food I found seems to stimulate growth, worms, minnows, etc..

they grow a inch each month. And i have had mine for 2years now and i got him at 4" and now hes 14"

When did you get it? "he's only about 7 inch long and has kinda been the same size since i bought him" doesn't really tell us much if we don't know how long ago you got him.

Alot of these eels look simliar are you sure you have a fire eel not a peacock eel or something.

I feed my fire eel ELROY bloodworms, he has grown twice his size in little less than a year.

i would like to see a picture but you should be more pacific with the thing were you say you bought him and he staying 7 inches when did you buy him like year, day, or month to help us figure it out

ive had him for about a year. he's in a odd ball tank at 60 gals so if i was to put bloodworm (for example) nothing would guarantee he would get it. he gets prawn oncw a day thats about the long and short of it. doesnt actively chase anything. a feeder fish wound get destroyed by other things before ole' fire eel.

my ell destroys them and hes mere 6/7 inched but betting nice and thick.
