Fire Eel(s) and Discus

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
mine dont go near my fish and if they do they just swim past as if they rnt there....but they r only babies, 7" tops.
iv got a tank for them if they get aggressive when they r bigger though lol
sorry that wasnt much help was it.

They should be fine. I kept fire eels and discus before with no problems.

Have had mine together without any problems for a few months now.

Maybe go with one fire eel, I have one, and I have read that when they are larger they can fight one another. Both will look very nice together in a planted tank, only problem I have is sometimes the fire eel will uproot the plants when it digs into the substrate. They mind their own buisness, and won't mess with the discus.

Actually, you can keep more than one Spiny Eel in the same tank. A lot of the experts say that it is very doable for as long as you let them grow up together.

Go for it. The only fish my fire eel has ever shown aggression to is my BGK, but it was only nudging and nipping for cave space.

not a good idea, the nocturnal eel will disturb your discus at night and will cause them stress..............not good at all

surprised nobody else knew this

Umm, this can be solved by giving your eels some hiding spots to call home. That and having more aquarium space.
