SO! Long story short....I was going to go feed my Endli (who is with my fire eel in the 40 gallon), and noticed my fire eel wasn't hanging in this fake plant jungle thingy! I quickly looked around the floor to see if he had just recently jumped and NOTHING! I check my betta jars (as my bettas are next to their tank) in case he miraculously jumped into one....NOTHING! I remember someone posting that he had problems with his fire eel getting inside his Emperor 400, and so I decided to check mine. Some how this eel (14"-15") managed to squeeze out from a 1" opening and made his way into the emperor 400. Also I can't believe how he managed to fit in there!

Well...that is my short story. Got him out now and all is good but that scared the crap out of me! I would have lost 2 eels by them jumping if this one did jump.....

BTW I was too scared/worried to have even think of taking pictures when he was in there.....maybe next time if he does.:screwy:

It's funny how they can manage that. I had a TT months ago that escaped. I've basically renovated my entire house since then in an effort to find him, and STILL no sign of him LOL. I swear he jumped out and slithered 2 miles or so to the nearest pond ;P

i had a similar experience, i thought my fire eel got eated by my larger dat but i end up finding it 2 months later in my fx5 canister, alive and well

i had a 6" fire eel do something like that. they r funny.
