Hi all,
I recently got a 6" fire eel last Thrusday (2 days ago); I acclimated it like I do any other fish, 15min soak, then add a bit of aquarium water on bag, and let it float for another 15min, then slowly release onto aquarium.
Just checked parameters, everything is excellent. 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 5 nitrates...PH around 7.2- 7.6;
I have him with a CK, FW Lima Flounder, a Senegal...all of them seem fine...no heavy breathing or anything.
Anyhoo, I woke up this morning and I saw him swilling around aimlessly. There was obvious signs of heavy breathing and he is usually upside down.
He was in his log the whole time ive had him, and now the first time he is out, there is this.
I dont know what to do honestly...I have a 3 day guarantee on him to which my LFS said he would exchange for. It EXPIRES TODAY!
Is it too late? I have him in hospital tank that i recently added aquarium salt.
