Fire Eel skin peeling?

What do you all make of this? I have 2 Fire Eels but my big one looks like this, he still eats and is very fat, acts normal but skin looks like its peeling.

looks like an excess slimecoat production?
maybe you've added too much salt?

I add the recommended dosage, but the other guy isnt doing that? I can do a few water changes over the next few days if thats the problem.

im not 100% sure mate as i know little about eels..
But i know that excess slimecoat in fish can be caused by too much salt..

just a semi-educated guess on my part..
but waterchanges arent going to hurt.. i would try that..

Well so far so good, he his alive, everytime something happens to my fish no matter what I do, they almost always die. Water is filling back up and will see if any change in the next day or so. Thanks

fire eels are very nice, have always liked them but never been able to find any here...
not sure any are in the country..
anyway, let me know how he goes..

i know this is typical question but what are your water params culd be ammonia issues. hope i havent affended you in any way with the ? and comment just tryen to help.
