My largest fire eel seems to like to sleep on his side. He's done this ever since i got him several months ago. He still eats fine, and will wake up and turn upright if he sees me or hears me go by. He sleeps and pretty much lives in a long piece of PVC. Is this normal behavior for them, or is it possible there is something wrong with my eel?

long as there is no other signs of trouble still.. mine would sleep oddly in the PVC as well. I think it's just the way it's shaped, no place to really anchor themselves in. My fires would do this from time to time. It can also be a sign of early boyancy issues from IPs or disease.. so keep a watchful eye.. but again if no other odd behavior I wouldn't worry about it.
