Ok, not sure what is causing it but my newly acquired (less then one week) fire eel is now twitching and swimming upside down. It's been fine but when I went to feed it just now it's acting crazy.. I don't see any injuries or anything.. What should I look for, what should I do?

It's in a 30 gallon by itself and I checked the parameters when I got home from work and all is well. I'm doing a partial water change now but need suggestions quick..

Come on ya'll. Give me some insight please. I woke up this morning and it's now on it's back, it's no longer twitching but at this point I've never been able to recover a fish.

I was reading through some other posts and I forgot to mention that it's poop was bright red like it had blood in it. This was two days ago that I saw that. Today it is also looking bloated. Think it's parasites or something??

Well I dropped in some clout.. I know it shouldn't be used on this type of fish but if it is a parasite I can not risk losing my other fish that are in the tank. It also said it helps with bloating but at this point I'm ready to call this fish deceased as it's not looking good.

Still need ideas to keep this from happening to my marble gobies.

First remove your gobies - if that's too hard since they are still vibrant, then removed the eel. Look at a short list I posted in the thread called "My paradise fish is losing weight". Let me know if any of those symptoms appear with your fire-eel ok. Next, can you post a clear picture? Close up, and not blurry - should be easy if he's not moving much. And last but not least, what have you done to your water in the last 72 hours - to include top-offs, temp changes, feedings, chemical additions of any kind, new stock, etc. Thanks so much!
