Over there
I know there's probably a lot of threads on this but I can't seem to find them on my phone app. My eel is about 8" and I've had it for about 3 weeks and it still hasn't eaten anything! I've tried frozen bloodworms, live black worms, tilapia, smelt, cut earthworms and whole (real) bloodworms from the bait shop. It just won't eat! It has even lost weight becuz of it. It's in a 40b with some Mahseer's convicts and a G. polyuranodon. Temp is 78 and ph is 7. Nitrates are <20ppm and no nitrites or ammonia. What else can I do to get him to eat? I've had them before but never 1 this picky. The ones I had a few years ago went crazy for live blackworms

My eel will only take frozen krill.

Also he didnt come out in the open in the light to eat until he hit 12".

Maybe drop some krill in there later when its dark and hopefully he'll eat

I've only been feeding him at night hoping he would eat but obviously from the dramatic weight loss, he hasn't been eating

I know he's curious for food cuz I'll try to hand feed him and he'll actually come to my hand and sniff the food but won't eat it :(

Try having him in a tank by himself and see if the eats?

I had a foot long peacock striped eel that refused to feed in front of me and didn't eat for months but would sniff live earthworms. Eventually I put him in a 10 gallon with a lot of caves and just threw in a ton of black worms. Eventually he started to pick up weight but he would never feed in front of me. Eventually I gave him away since I was tired of a fish I could never see. Good luck with your guy though. I haven't kept a spiny eel since that guy. Was just a bad experience lol

Thanks man. I've kept every single spiny eel out there but this is the first time I've ever had 1 not eat at all. He's hand tame and would always swim to my hand and sniff the food im holding but would never eat
