Fire Eel..

What is the growth rate typically like for Fire Eels? Are they all wild caught or tank raised as well?

I searched but "eel" doesn't register as a word because it is to short..

They grow about medium speed. Faster than CLs, slower than Tinfoil Barbs and RTCs.

they will grow at around 1'' a month some times slower

I don't think they have been breed in captivity so they would be wild caught

Mine has grown about an inch or less a month since I got him a couple of months ago, but he was already 12 inches at the time. Considering how small of specimens are offered I wouldn't be surprised if captive breeding had occurred.

The reason I ask about captive breeding is because some fire eels have much better colors then others. So I figured the wild caught would have the best colors.

Fire eels are all wild caught. Mine seems to be growing really slow; he/she has bulked up but has not really put a lot of length on.

I think there are also captive bred eels. I forgot the link though, I believe its from India.

The Armatus, which is still a spiny, gets to about the same size.
Mine grows FAST, although he does eat 4-6 massivore pellets a feeding!
