Hi I am starting again with tropical fish I was think about getting a fire eel and I can get I cheap tank 120cmx37cmx46cm tank how long would I have before I upgrade thanks

I got mine 2 months ago, he was 3.5 to 4 inches. He is now 6.5 inches. He is hand fed raw freshwater shrimp, garden worms, and some times blood worms. The trick to speedy growth is the garden worms, and clean water. The cleaner the water the faster he will grow.

Forgot to mention IMO your looking at a minimum 180 gallon for him when full grown. 72in x24in x24in. It wouldn't take long for him to outgrow the tank you have now.

I'd say you would probably have at least a year and a half to upgrade, assuming you get your eel at 3-4".

1 yr or less if its fed well... more if it stays smaller.
