fire mouths

i just bought 2 fire mouths and wondered if i have a pair there about 2 1/2ins long and one is darker than the other and has a bigger tail fin ?

it might be too hard to sex because still young

Males have a pointy dorsal fin with an extension. But they'll prob have to get a little bigger b4 u can tell. Post some pics if u can, some1 maybe able to sex them 4u.

Males also have a little more red around the throat.

the darker one has a lot of red and the other has very little

One possibly is more dominant, then the other. Wait until they reach 3-4" and then take a picture.

i looked closer earlier and the dark one has an anal fin which nearly reaches the tip of the tail and the other one is blunt?

Definitely wait till they reach 3-4", because I have 3 firemouths and the original one used to lose his color off and on, but he gains it back. But give them some time.
