so i have everything on pellets right now exept for fire eel he about 22inch long but only eat earth worms and a lot of them wish i can get him to eat pellets anyone got there's too and what brand and how did u do it?

My fire is a finnicky eater, also. My tire track is just the opposite. He will eat anything, to include shrimp pellets. I've not offered him any other pellet, but I know that he'd eat it. I suggest you stop feeding him earthworms and offer nothing but the pellets.

If you get it eating blood worm and then just add in some small cishlid pellets with it (that is if it eats out of your hand) then i think you will be ok.

i would not feed worms for 1-2 weeks and offer everything else, eventually they will eat. If you are worried then power feed worms for a week and then starve.

If your eel will eat krill, try yo get it to eat freeze dryed krill (floating). After it eats floating food, start mixing in pellets. I use mainly Hikari food sticks. My eel eats more of these than my aro does now. The eel also started eating carnivore pellets recently, but perfers food sticks.

Try frozen krill/shrimp (thawed of course) that has been in a cup with earth worms for a little while. After the worms crawl all over it they will cover it with their slime. I even shake them around with the new food for a bit. Then try feeding the krill or shrimp coated in earthworm flavor. This has worked with a few animals at my house.
