anyone have success mixing the two?

the gf has a 15g with 6 fbt (i'm not a fan). tanks half full with probably 6g water total. two (!) tiny fluval internal filters are also in the tank. are there any fish than can be added to this setup or is it very unlikely? i really don't think it's a good idea. would this tank even cycle?

Yes, this tank will cycle. The toads creat waste and the nitrogen cycle goes to work. NO you "cant" put fish in their because toads secreat toxins from their skin. And it may kill the fish.

On the contrary, I've seen this done many times without ill effects to the fish. As long as there's adequate filtration, and not overstocking the water area, you could probably toss a few fish in there. I wouldn't attempt anything pricey or sensitive like angels or neons. Maybe a trio of danios, minnows or guppies.

You may have seen them mixed with other species before but, the fact remains that firebelly toads secrete toxins from the skin that can be injurious to other animals maintained with them. At the very least these toxins are a constant skin irritant. And since it's been posted that 6 FBTs are being maintained in a 15gal tank, it would be irresponsible to suggest that any other species may safely be contained with them.

my bad, there's only 5 lol
not that would make a difference. some folks have had success with guppies or white clouds apparently. not sure of the setups used.

isn't gonna happen now regardless.
