im thinkin a 37 gallon with a firemouth an a breeding pair of convicts? any ideas?

Make sure you provide plenty of cover and dither fish. A breeding pair of Cons can be very aggressive. I have seen them take over much larger tanks with much larger and more aggressive fish. It can work though. You just have to make sure that the Firemouth has enough space and places to get away from the Cons if they get aggressive.

i've bred con's before for a local lfs but never with a nother fish. what would be good dithers in the 37? an as filtration im runnin a little over 700 gallons an hour.

<--- lots of lessons learned on breeding cons, i would keep them alone or get two females with your firemouth.. they go psycho when breeding! my female beat up her mate.. removed him and she jumped outa the tank tryin to attack me when rinsing the filter.. i cant even keep my non mated old black con with any other fish right now :( wish u all the luck and hope yours will be better than mine with cons

Nah'. FM and Cons max out fairly small and don't have that big of a mouth. (as I'm sure you already know) My Dad bought a school of BA Tetras for the 55g I gave to him and they grew FAST and got to about 3" TL and 1"-1.5" bottom to top including fins. I've never seen a Con or FM with a mouth big enough to eat a dither that size. They're also VERY fast and good at gettin' out the way. :D

37g? I'd do at least 6. I myself enjoy larger schools so if it were me, I'd do at least 9. However some people might tell you that's too large of a school for 37g. I personally don't think so though when it's a peaceful, fast moving, smaller dither like the BAs.
