Hi.
I have a 100G SA/CA aquarium with 2 firemouth cichlids, sex unknown, 1 jack dempsey and a convict. They are all juveniles, 2-3 inches.

One firemouth is bigger than the other and the most dominante fish in the tank.
The 2 firemouths have been inseparable in the 6months I have owned them, but the larger one has taken a sudden disliking to the smaller one. It seemed like harmless chasing at first but I have just noticed ripped fins and the red gill they use to make them selves look bigger is torn.

It seems unfair to get rid of the smaller firemouth as it's done nothing wrong, but I cant imagine it would fare very well with the JD when it gets bigger.

What would you do? One has to go.
Thanks

I'd take out the smaller one and rehome it.

I have a similar situation with my growouts. My male FM thinks he rules the tank. Chases the GT, chases the Carpinitis (now only sometimes), and even tries to bully my male JD (who is having none of it). Do you have another tank one can be moved to? A tough FM at least can stand up to the JD once they grow up
