On a scale of 1-10 how hard is it to breed them without any hormones?

For starters I would say the vast majority of hobbyist don't use hormones to breed fish. Only reason I woudl think to use hormone treatment is for sterile males. If you have a group of 6 or so and grow them out you will get at least a pair. They are not that hard to spawn.

With 1 being easy and 10 being harder. Probably like a 3 most ca/SA cichlids are incredibly easy to breed just get some juvies and let them pair off and you have a breeding pair

I say a 1 when I got my last pair they breed with two weeks of having them. All i did was put them in their own tank and cold water changes .Of coarse I got them as a pair. If your growing them out I say a 3 only cause you have wait and establish a pair.
