Firemouth Community tank?

So I'm gonna look around for a nice sized (100g+) tank soon.
I really like the two FM I have now, so I wanna bigger tank with
some FM in it. I will get some new FM, for the ones I have will stay
with Pops. I'd like to have a big enough tank to house a species of shell
dwellers, a few plecos, and some other cichlids from the CA region.
Could I go with a larger tank and add 1 or 2 large species to accomidate
the temperment of the FM, or add more of the same size as the FM with the same temperment? Anybody have any experience with this situation?

I really like the way the FM behave and have always wondered if there are any other species of cichlids or other typres of fish that can tolerate their behavior.
 
my sev keeps my male fm in its place! i have two fm but the little guy that was getting bullied by the larger male was moved to another tank. even in my 135 the little one was getting picked on all the time. so he has his place in another tank. i think its a hit and miss with some fm some are agressive and some are shy. but my sev isnt overly mean just puts him in place sometimes. i think sev would be a good choice for you
 
I have had mine with Cons, BPs, RDs, Sevs, Oscars and JDs. Would do them all again with the exception of the RD.
