Firemouth/Convict Eggs

Looks like my Female convict has laid some eggs, and now her and my male firemouth are protecting them from the rest of the tankmates. This should be interesting... haha

You and me both, im not even sure if the eggs are fertilized or not.. I imagine they are because the firemouth is chasing everybody away from the spot... pictures to come tonight after I get off work

here is the answer to your question of what the babies would look like since my firemouth and convict used to breed all the time...

i have pictures in my gallery so take a look...

mine breed about 5 or 6 times before i separated them... i no longer have the babies or the cichlids anymore but was fun while it lasted...

one other thing that would be good for there breeding would be to have a cave for them, would make it easier for them to defend the eggs so that they can hatch...
