Firemouth not growing

My 180 has been setup now for 4 months and the little firemouth has only grown about 1/2" from what i can tell. He eats good but is only about 2 inches long, while my oscar is now over a chunky 7 inches, and my 2 sevrums, eartheater, green terror and dempsy are all getting almost to 6. I change 50 gallons a week. All the fish were about 2 inches when i put them in. Any ideas?

be patient, make sure it gets enough to eat...other than that, they are slower growers than some of the larger-growing species you have

They do grow slow, especially compared to an oscar.

True true, I was just concerned that it might be stunted from the pet store where i bought it. But i suppose they come in all sizes just like people.... Thank you.

Fire Mouths are probably one of my favorite all time fish, my 3" guy punks a 9" P-Bass all day long. If yours is surviving the GT,Oscar, and Dempsey I'd bet he/she is doing just fine

True,True they are little terrors,small version of true "Monsters".

He is also probably last on the food chain at his size.
