What kind of cheap substrate will keep your PH at 7.2-7.8. It has to be Cheap. Or are there any other things that will do it besides chemicals.

Our well water has a PH of about 6

Ph means nothing. What's the carbonate and total hardness?

Wait the color on my test strip for the PH is lighter than lightest color on my test strip!!!!The lowest PH you can test on the strip is 6. The higher PH is a darker color. my carbonate hardness is 0 my genarel hardness is 0

Sorry the general hardness is 10. not 0.

GH of ten means your water is buffered enough to be stable between your weekly water changes. Perfect for most SA and CA cichlids. You do not need to worry about pH unless you're trying to keep africans, mollies, etc.
