firemouth tankmates

next week iam going to buy a 30x12x12 inches tank, so my qestion is what tankmates i could have with my male firemouth. thanks

in a 55gal i have:
1 firemouth
1 kenyi
1 bumblebee
1 ruben red peacock
1 yellow lab.
1 syno cat
9 misc. africans
3 bala sharks
2 bgks
1 rope fish
1 gold nugget pleco
1 silver gar

i think thats all now i used to have 1 sunshine peacock, 1 regal peacock, 1 electric blue, a common pleco, a jewal cichlid and they killed a jack dempsey. just some ideas

in that tank i also have 580gph worth of filtration

I would add a female firemouth, a BN pleco, and some sort of dithers. If you don't want a firemouth, I would go with a single male convict.

could i have one severum in my tank or would my tank be to small.Do severum have a slow grow rate.

Thoricthys as a rule arent too agressive although meeki can be.... in a tank of that size i wouldnt want too much much else in or at least cichlid wise as you need room for territories. I'd go for a smaller group of schooling fish but somthing that would potentially be food. Maybe some of the smaller rainbow fish like the lake kubuta blues or pappae's? even a group of giant danios would look good.
