Firemouth tankmates

Just bought my first firemouth the other day he's about 2 inches right now. What would be some good tankmates for him? He's in a 29 standard growout tank.

Since he's in a growout now, what size tank do you plan on moving him to?

ive had them with Oscars,Salvini,eartheaters,jags,pike,Festae,JD,EBJD,Green Terror,Red head,Red Devil,Midas and convictsim sure im leaving some out but they they will stand up to other cichlids and if there out matched they are fast and are good hiders i did have one die from my big oscar well it was killed by a large pot that the oscar pushed into it just crashed the hell out of him he was 6" i think its funny now but i was pretty heated
