Firemouth Tankmates

After a super long hiatus I've returned with a pretty easy question

Current tank: 55 gallon
Current Residents:

• 3 Firemouth
• 5 Black skirt Tetras
• 5 Blood fin Tetras

Looking to add a peaceful or semi-aggro cichlid to the mix. Thoughts?

Actually considering this, but want some not so shy cichlids as well.

Acaras are peaceful, but will also defend themselves. Mine used to keep the peace between my JD and convict, never even glanced at my community fish

Do you think a solo male convict or a t-bar would work or would it bully everything? Have always had a think for convicts.

A convict yes, but a T-bar would be fine. They look much better anyway IMO.

At the moment, I got a mix of 2 pairs of Firemouths, a pair of C. Cutteri and a pair of T. Ellioti... They all spare quite a bit but don't harm eachother in the same way some of the bigger cichlids could
