Firemouth Tankmates

Anyone know if I could keep a female firemouth in a 29 gallon with some tankmates? My idea for tank mates would be someone small but big enough that they wouldn't get swallowed. I was thinking a live bearer such as sword tails. I know that sword tails and firemouths live together in the wild, and I also know that firemouths are a lot more docile than most cichlids. So my main problem is the tanksize, I do have a 50 gallon filter on the back that that does 250 GPH. Thanks for any replies concerning this question.

Well, I guess it depends on the fish. Because all fish have different personality's. People say green terrors are really aggressive and kill everything in their tank, but mine doesn't harm anything that lives with her.

yea, that's true....and the femles are usually worse than the male GTs. IDK how to sex FMs, i just know mine are males (oxymoron lol), but you might be ok w/ female FMs. I just know mine are vicious little monsters and I always went by the rule about the 3 little meanies - Firemouths, Convicts, Jewels - always keep them with bigger fish because they should NEVER be the dominant fish in a tank.
