Firemouth x convict breeding

I have a pair of f1 firemouth x convicts hybrids. Both from different parents. I managed to get a pair established but it seems like the move to their own tank weakened their bond. I laid their tank out exactly how it was in the other tank. The has been super aggressive toward his mate n the 8 blood fin tetras that are housed with them. He doesnt let his mate move form under the circulation pump . If she moves even an half a inch he comes charging from across the tank. I dont know what do . Shes ready to spawn belly is all fat and her tube dropped almost completely straight down. Hes just way too aggressive.

Try removing the male for a while and allowing the female to come out and reclaim the tank. Or you can use a divider and ive HEARD of them breeding through the floor on a small gap

I might try moving the male with my gt for a week or two then put him back
