what is the growth rate of a firemouth cichlid

as i understand firemouths grow queit slowly, not sure of inches per amount of time, but something like 1" every 6-7 months is my guess

when i raised my fty they grew to 3 inches in 4 months..then slowed down..6 months later the biggest was 6 inches..they grow pretty slow..but not THAT slow..

Yeah I'm with you on this one. Mine is about 3 1/2" right now and I bought him 3 months ago around 2" tops. He's a PIG! eats everything in sight

I got a fm at 1.5" and it has doubled in size in 3 months in a 75gal cichlid community tank they eat hikari gold, earthworms as a staple and shrimp and beefheart to change up the selection.
