Hi everyone,

I have been breeding firemouths for over 25+years and have been line breeding for the last 7. i am currently on generation 6 with an outcross to a different firemouth at the 4th gen to avoid problems with inbreeding. Are any of you line breeding cichlids for size and color?

I have spent the last 7 years really trying to isolate some albino fry and have come up empty. This is the Holy Grail to me and would really appreciate any info on anyone who has an albino. I would purchase from you immediately!

I have been to convention after convention and everyone has an albino back home but never come up with any pics or available fish. I would love to introduce an albino form to my breeding program.

Here are some pics of some of my Firemouths...

Nice fish u got their i raise red devils and i have considered doing a breeding project like u have described i think it has potencial.I have seen some albino fm's for sale at [Tangled up in cichlids .com] they also have had in the past some blue firemouths that looked really sweet i have 1 fm right now about 3" i would have ordered some blue fm's from there but i am fully stocked hope u can get the albino's there.lol:grinno:

rapps has albino but i believe there mexitico ..not meeki..i have some..well i didd

What would the differances be between the mexitico and meeki i did not catch that part on rapps web site i just seen a pic of a mostly blue fm and was like sweet i want that 1.

I'll have to talk to Jeff more about the albino's.
Mex Fm's are more blue. I am interested in the red form.
I got a bunch of wild ones from Rusty Wessell at an ACA convention in Chicago.

Simply gorgeous! I have never seen a firemouth with that much beauty!
