what would you guys say the minimumtank size would be for a fire or tiretrack eel?

i really want one.

ya I want to get a fire eel myself, I am planning a 300g or 370g tank this summer so that would it's home. bith the tiretrack and fire eels do get quit large 30 inches or bigger. The one in the pic below is 30-36"

If all you are getting is just one, then the smallest tank would be a 75gal. I have 2 Fire eels and 2 Tire Track eels with 4 Peacock eels in my 240 gal. I love to feed mine earth worms and night crawlers. COVER ALL HOLES ON YOU HOOD!!! They are escape artist!! They go throw growth spurts just so you know. I had mine for about a year and my TT just hit the 2 foot mark and my FF are just now hit 1.5ft mark.

DO THEY LIKE TO HIDE IN THE GRAVELALOT?
I SEE THEM AT THE STORE AND THEY'RE ALWAYS IN THE GRAVEL. DO THEY GROW OUT OF THIS?

sorry, caps lock.

i have one in a 30g, one in a 110g and one in a 150g. the small tank is obvious a bit small but is backup cuz he was bitten by another eel. a 100g would be enough for a eel up to +/-60cm, then i would get slightly bigger if possible.

ive got a tiretrack, fire, and peacock in a 180... i just got the TT and Fire today, cant wait a couple years until they are monster!

anyone got pics of their eels past the 1.5 or bigger mark, i would love to see them!

When mine was young they hide a lot. Now that they are bigger they dont hide in the gravle as much. I need to get more drift wood in there becuse they do fight every now and then for the hiding spots. My peacock eels up root just about all my plants :irked: My big TT pertty much goes where ever she wants;)
