Hello all, Like the title says I'm resealing my 98g(54x20x21) and its my first time ever doing one. I have watched some videos and done some reading and I think I'm ready to try it. So I went to my parents today to move it out of there basement into the garage. When I was looking inside I noticed what kinda look like air line tubing underneath the silicone running vertically in all the corners. I am hoping someone would be able to tell be what it is and my its there? In the one corner you can see some of it broke off near the bottom. It almost looks like he put a layer of silicone then the air tube or whatever it is on top of it then another layer of silicone on top of the tubing. I really want to know if this will affect the way that I have to reseal my aquarium.

Thanks in advanced for any advise.

That is very strange but remove it and clean those corners really well with razor blade. The trick to a good reseal is making sure there is no old silicone residue left behind. When your done cleaning the old silicone.......clean it again. Good luck. ;)

I bought some ge silicone and Its says its not to be used in aquariums. Is that just for liability issues or should I return it and get something else?

GE I or GE II? If I you're good to go, if it is II then you need to return it.

I have some GE I at the house I got for my project but not sure if it has a standard liability disclaimer about aquariums or not.
