been watching him at my LFS for the past three months. price also went up from $60 to $100 in the meantime but he has also grown from 6 inches to about 10-11" in that period too. looks to be healthy but has one droopy eye. LFS has been feeding him live goldfish but he's shown interest in pellets and frozen shrimp in the past 24 hours.

i've been sick of having a big (to me) tank and lots of small fish in it. went to the LFS and picked up the 10-11" aro and a 12" pleco. they fit right in and look good in their 225 gallon home. so the other inhabitants are 6 discus, 2 big upside down cats, 6 clown loaches, 2 pictus catfish, and about 40 rummynose tetras. the aro's been looking at the tetras lately, i wanted to move them but they are next to impossible to net. we'll see if the aro is faster than i am.

i'll see if i can snap some pictures. havent yet taken any pictures of my whole setup and it's been running for months now.

Excellent. Look forward to seeing pics.

I would just bought the aro, but a pleco this big should be nice too.
congrats and show us some pics please.

im not really a fan of mixing fish that wouldn't normally be in the wild together but it still sounds like a really cool tank! pics???

any particular reason you both would have not gotten the pleco or is that just personal taste? They have always seemed like background fish to me.

pics to come tonight, took some last night and am at work now. shhh

PICS!

enjoy! i know it's bare, but that's only temporary. same as the canopy, i built the stand and am in the process of building the light hood/canopy.

the aro is 10" ?? looks smaller than mine. maybe just the angle.
bout the pleco, very nice. I see it as a background fish too.
good luck with them
