i am totally new to plants. I have not been able to keep house plants. At least I know that I can not over water these!
Here are my first two attempts of planted tanks. 36g and 16g. Both are three weeks old now. I am going by the trial and error method. It all started by looking at MFK threads. IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!
The geos dig in the sand but have not bothered any of the plants.
I hope/think I got low light and hardy plants to help give me the greatest chance of success. All of these plants are young and should fill in.
The plan is to not have major lighting and CO2 systems and the like. I was hoping for low maintenance.
BTW: the red-ish plant in the first tank is fake. I know that red plants require more light to stay red. It just happens to be the main color of the fireplace room.
The third pic is a "before" real plant picture. The 16g is on the desk next to my MFK computer. It is a bit cloudy. It is going though a mini cycle from the major substrate change.
1) Anyone see potential pain or heartaches?
2) Is it inevitable that I will need to add hardware in the future? any suggestions? I take harsh criticism well.
