ur female kinda looks like mine! lol mine havnt breed yet but made the nest how long did urs take to actually spawn? they been in the tank for about 3days

Z- If the female has eggs ready to go, they could spawn any time. If not, then it might take her up to a week or two to grow the eggs.

Z- I had mine in the tank (as a lone pair) for about 3-4 weeks before I saw fry. Take about a week off of that because they stayed 100% hidden until they were free swimming.
OP: Congrats on your first spawn My first batch is something like 3 weeks old now. They're happily eating hikari micro pellets like they're going out of style.
Heads up: For the first 2 weeks or so the female was beating the crap out of the male, he pretty much stayed stuck in one of the upper corners of the tank (he's about 1.5x her size too) and then something switched and now its opposite. I never see the female unless she's getting chased around the tank. I know spousal aggression is expected, but I was surprised to see it go both ways.

Congrats on the brood! I've heard that convicts + water = lots and lots of babies, so you are in for LOTS more!!
