First batch smaller?

my 32 inch disc henlei had 3 still borns a few months ago. She is pregnant again however at this stage is very massive compared to last time. last time there was only movement on one side this time both and she has a lot more mass than last time at the early stage of pregnancy. I was wondering if more pups were typical on second litters?

I have also heard that henlei litters are typically smaller than say leopolodi. Is there truth to that?

For a 32 inch fish I was surprised to only see 3

Henlei litters have always been smaller for me, and the second litter she would have 5 or more easily.

but with livebearers, the first few drops are the smallest and the weakest. so the the quality and quantity increase over time

First time litters often have less success than future batches so don't be disheartened.
