First Bichir

Well I couldnt resist any longer lol, I ended up buying a little senegal from petsmart for $6. He is about 2.5" and loves NLS 3mm pellets, as soon as it hits the bottom he starts searching for it. I currently have him in a 29g by himself. In a few months I will be moving all my african cichlids to a larger tank and I will have an empty 75g, how long can he last in the 29g though? I might be getting rid of the 29g though and getting a 40g breeder. Here are some pics.

I remember the feeling of getting the first senegal in the tank ^^ unfortunaly the goldie didnt really like it

I kept mine in a 5g tank for a couple of months before I got my real tank and it fed/grew well dispite that. I think he could last quite a long time in a 29, since they dont grow so slow

Thanks. I plan on getting more once I can dedicate a large tank to them, but this little guy will have to hold me over until then.

He has been eating NLS 3mm pellets and he appears to just swallow them whole. Sometimes you can see lumps in his stomach about the size of the pellets, should I be worried?
