I picked up this 125g used with stand. It was previously used as a SW tank and was very messy. The lights that came with it had been used over open water so I had to tare them apart and clean up the corrosion.

Have any of you seen a stand like this before, doesn't seem to be over built as it isn't solid wood but is just like my 55g stand that is made out of pressed paper.

Tank at its new spot all dirty.

Side Shot - I think a 180 would have stuck to far out with HOB's.

There was a small chip on the back side corner of the tank at this water level. I wante to test this for a while at this level, all seems to be ok.

Did you check the water to make sure its level? If not, check soon, you may need shims since its on carpet.
The stand is fine. It was made for that tank, so it will hold it. Just make sure the stand doesnt get too wet. Thats the problem with particle board. Once its wet, it turns to mush.

Looks good though. Its like that part of the house was made just for a tank to sit there or something.

What will you stock with? I would make sure to add a canister on there too.

Nice job.

From side to side the tank is perfectly level. I bought shims because my level showed the tank from front to back leaning a bit forward. Once I filled it with water it is level. I'll know exactly how level once I get it to the top brace. Its odd having to do this because it was never a concern on any of my smaller tanks.

I'm planning on adding a few more SA/CA cichlids but still keeping it a mixed tank with africans.

I have one ac110 on it now and another cheap HOB. I'm hoping to get another ac110 and take my small XP1 off of another tank. I wish the xp1 was an xp3 but maybe over timer.

So it will be 2 HOB's AC110's and a XP1. I use all spongers in the xp1.
