So I've converted my 20 gallon tall tank into a brackish tank. I set it up with some driftwood, sand, some sandstone rock and a few artificial plants. The SG is at 1.008 at the moment. I threw in some local snails into the water and have let them multiply and have a good amount in the tank now. My plan is to let the snails grow a little bit more then add a Figure Eight Puffer.
Is the size of the tank big enough or should I be considering Dwarf Puffers instead?
Is the SG ok for the Figure Eight?
For foods I have a stockpile of assorted frozen beef heart, bloodworms, mesquito larvea, and brineshrimp. Are there any suggestions on other foods for the Puff?
Are there any tankmates that would do ok with one or is it pretty much a puffer tank once I add him?
I was going to turn this tank into a breeder to raise some feeders for my main tank but have decided that some brackish water practice would be nice. Eventually my goal is to make a 150 gallon brackish set up for a school of archers with about 3 foot of airspace above the tank.
